The younger of the Tszyu brothers will take to the ring on Wednesday in his first defence of the Australian Super Welterweight title he won in his previous fight against – at the time – undefeated Aussie, Dylan Briggs. This will also prove to be his first time headlining a card; one that is rather stacked with international-level competition. The ringwalks for Tszyu vs. Creati are scheduled for 8 p.m. AEST / 11 a.m. UK / 6 a.m. ET.
This time out, The Butcher is set to defend against Danilo Creati; a challenger whose only loss came by way of Michael Zerafa in 2022. Despite a disappointing draw last time out, Creati should provide Tszyu with another credible win at national level — should his power best the capable challenger.
One can only wonder, with blistering – yet unpolished – power, can Nikita step up beyond the national level? Perhaps that is what awaits moving past Wednesday night.
Also on the card is Jerome Pampellone, the British light-heavyweight based in Australia, who will battle it out in an evenly-matched fight against undefeated Libyan Malik Zinad. This fight, an IBF eliminator bout, should prove interesting, given the state of the light-heavyweight division, moving into the June 1st undisputed bout in Saudi Arabia. The winner of this bout might be next in line for the top of the division.
Elsewhere on the card, more belts are up for grabs. Clara Lescruat, the WBA World Super Flyweight Champion will defend against the Australian native with a 8-2-2 record, Linn Sandstrom. Two highly capable fighters, this should prove to be one of the more engaging fights on the card.
Mateo Tapia and Keiber Gonzalez will wage a war in which an 0 must go, with the vacant WBO Global Middleweight title on the line. Despite having less fights on his record, Tapia has evidently faced competition at a much higher level to that of Gonzalez, who has yet to prove he has what it takes to step up. Nevertheless, this will be an entertaining showcase.
The final belt on the line is the WBA Oceania Super Welterweight title, being fought for in an all-Australian barnstormer between Benjamin Hussain and Mason Smith. Having both collected some minor regional trinkets, this should provide both men with a clear step up the rankings.
Of course, this is not to neglect the preliminaries, primarily built-up of even fights between regional level talent.
And so, ultimately, Wednesday night belongs to Australia and No Limit, with this interestingly stacked PPV card offering fight fans a midweek fix of intriguing match-ups and contentious title fights — providing questions to be answered along the way.
