Streaming live globally on Netflix, the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight which is scheduled to take place on Saturday night, July 20th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas has been upgraded from an intriguing bout to an epic event, as Most Valuable Promotions made the announcement that the chief support match will be Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 2.

As they both accomplished accolade after accolade and won title after title, Taylor and Serrano became the new pioneers of women’s boxing. They finally faced each other in an historic event that took place in New York City back in April 2022.

Two years later, the most highly anticipated rematch in women’s boxing is here as the undisputed super-lightweight champion Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) will defend her crown against the unified featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KOs).

Katie Taylor won her first world title back in October 2017 when she defeated Anahi Ester Sanchez by unanimous decision. Six months after winning the WBA lightweight strap, Taylor would add the IBF title to her collection by outpointing Victoria Bustos.

In March 2019, Katie Taylor won the WBO belt when she beat Rose Volante by way of 9th round TKO. Four months later, Taylor earned a majority decision victory over Delfine Persoon, and with the win, Taylor picked up the WBC belt, as she became the undisputed world lightweight champion.

Taylor would go on to defend her undisputed lightweight crown on multiple occasions. After the fourth successful undisputed world title defense, Taylor was ready to step up and face the ultimate challenge.

Back in March 2009 at the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany, New York, two female boxers were ready to make their pro debuts. Fortunately for Amanda Serrano, she was able to earn the majority decision victory.

Two years later, Serrano scored a second-round TKO victory against Kimberly Connor and won the vacant IBF super-featherweight title. Serrano would make an attempt to become unified world champion, but things didn’t go according to plan as she lost to WBC champion Frida Wallberg via unanimous decision.

Amanda Serrano would bounce back in a big way as she would go on to win multiple world titles. On January 18, 2019, Amanda Serrano scored a first-round knockout of Eva Voraberger to capture the vacant WBO super-flyweight title. With the win, Amanda Serrano became a seven-division world champion.

Serrano made history as she achieved the ultimate success of winning world titles at 115, 118, 122, 126, 130, 135, and 140. The next challenge of her legendary boxing career was to face the other female boxer who was considered the pound-for-pound best.

On April 30, 2022, undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor defended her title against the unified featherweight champion Amanda Serrano. The two trailblazers became the first women in history to headline a boxing card at Madison Square Garden.

Taylor and Serrano stood toe-to-toe and overwhelmed fight fans with non-stop action.

At the conclusion of the highly entertaining ten round battle, one judge scored the bout 96-94 for Serrano, but that card was overruled by the other two judges who scored the bout 97-93, and 96-93 in favor of Taylor.

Ten months later Amanda Serrano would make more history by defeating the then WBA featherweight champion Erika Cruz. With the victory, Serrano became the first Puerto Rican boxer to be crowned undisputed champion of the world.

Nine months after Serrano made history, the undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor made history of her own when she avenged her lone defeat. The Irish legend beat the then undisputed super-lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron and became a simultaneous two-division undisputed champion.

Now the two future Hall of Famers are set to meet once again as the Tyson vs Paul co-feature under the bright lights from the 80,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Katie Taylor wants to cement her legacy with a second victory over her rival, while Amanda Serrano wants to win and enhance her legendary status by becoming a two-weight undisputed world champion.
